Art is
King: Art Life Seminar at Central Library
GNG FaceBook friend DTM Flores
earlier this year hosted a seminar at the Atlanta Central Library for his
ArtLife line of comics and interactive games under the umbrella of his Art is
King program. Intended to offer
inspiration and guidance to tweens and teens aspiring towards careers in art
both fine and popular, the seminars give DTM a chance to engage directly with
young folks with their sights set on the ever growing entertainment media
industry. I took Mr. Adrian to
attend, since he is one of those aspiring teens. He brought his sketchbook, as all attendees
are encouraged to, and had an opportunity to introduce himself, talk publicly
for just a minute about his dreams and ideas and meet and talk with other
artists his own age. Personally, I found
it to be a brilliant and intimate event.
Mister was truly impacted by that moment, sharing himself with newly
discovered peers, which made me happy right down in my soul. I know how thrilling it is, that moment of
artistic sharing and community, and how valuable it can be to a thriving young
mind. Mister Adrian has continued to be
an active participant in the ArtLife seminars.
